Evaluate, use and integrate emerging 
technologies
 into your practice

I have been using a lot of different technologies this term.  I am not sure if they all count as "emerging" but they are new-ish.
This term, I have started blogging with my class and I LOVE it...they love it too & I am finally seeing my students who don't like to write actually get excited about writing (they don't seem to realize that blogging is writing....at least not yet).
The other thing that I have been letting interested students explore is making their own websites, prezis, powerpoints and iMovies. 
During Genius Hour they have access to any of these tools, and most chose them, though some still chose poster boards.  But only a few. 
I love that they are willing to try new technologies without ever having been taught how...they just try.  Warms my heart <3

One of my favourite parts of this program has been learning about all of the fantastic 2.0 programs available online...there are so many fantastic ones for teachers.  There are also many poor ones.  This is why it is so important to evaluate technologies before bringing them into the classroom.

Before choosing weebly as my website domain provider I did look at a few other online options.
            I have integrated the use of website into my practice now (this may not be emerging to others, but to me creating and maintaining a website on a daily basis certainly is)
            I have a links page with links to online programs and games that I think support what I am teaching in the classroom
